Rules & Guidelines
The complete rulebook governing all MATCHPOINT Championship matches. All registered players are bound by these rules from registration until the end of the season.
§1 General Rules
These rules apply to all players, teams, and staff participating in the MATCHPOINT Championship. Ignorance of a rule is not grounds for leniency.

MATCHPOINT is a community-run championship. We expect competitors to reflect that with respectful, sportsmanlike behavior at all times — in-game, in Discord, and in public spaces.
Prohibited behavior
- Harassment, hate speech, or targeted abuse toward any player, admin, or community member.
- Intentional match-throwing, collusion, or any form of match-fixing.
- Impersonating admins, other players, or championship staff.
- Sharing opponents' personal information without consent (doxxing).
- Griefing or stalling beyond reasonable in-game strategy (e.g. AFK farming to run out the clock when in a dominant position).
- Public disparagement of the championship, its admins, or sponsors in a way that materially harms the event.
In-game chat
Trash talk is part of competition — but there's a line. Slurs, sexual remarks, and targeted personal attacks cross it. Admins monitor match-day chat logs. Violations after a single warning escalate to conduct penalties.
§3 Anti-Cheat & Fair Play
Cheating destroys the integrity of every match it touches. MATCHPOINT uses server-side anti-cheat combined with admin review of flagged sessions. Both automated flags and player reports trigger investigation.
What counts as cheating
- Client modifications that provide unfair advantages — see §4 for the allowed mods list.
- External tools including auto-clickers, macros for gameplay (bridging macros, auto-crystal, reach hacks).
- Server exploit abuse — intentionally exploiting a known bug to gain advantage instead of reporting it.
- Resource pack manipulation — x-ray packs, hitbox-altering packs, or packs that make invisible blocks visible.
- Teaming — coordinating with players on opposing teams to gain shared advantage.
Investigation process
- A flag is raised — either by the anti-cheat system or a player report filed within 1 hour of the match.
- The admin panel reviews server-side logs, replay data, and any submitted evidence within 24 hours.
- The accused team is notified and given 12 hours to submit a defense (screen recording, etc.).
- A verdict is issued. If cheating is confirmed, §7 penalties apply. If inconclusive, the match result stands.
§4 Allowed Modifications
The following lists are not exhaustive — any mod not listed as allowed should be assumed banned until confirmed otherwise by an admin. When in doubt, ask in #mod-queries on Discord before your match.
§5 Disconnects & Technical Issues
Player disconnects
- A disconnected player has 3 minutes to reconnect. The match continues 3v4 during this window.
- If the player reconnects within 3 minutes, play continues normally. No penalty to the team.
- If the player does not reconnect within 3 minutes, the team continues 3v4 for the remainder of the round.
- If two or more players disconnect simultaneously and cannot reconnect within 3 minutes, an admin may pause the match for up to 10 minutes at their discretion.
Server-side issues
- If the championship server experiences a crash or outage mid-match, the match is paused and replayed from the last checkpoint if replay data is available.
- Admins may void a round (not a full match) if a server-side issue demonstrably determined the outcome.
- Internet issues on the player's side are not grounds for a rematch. Only server-side issues qualify.
§6 Dispute Resolution
Disputes must be filed through the in-app support channel or the #disputes Discord channel within 1 hour of the match concluding. Late disputes are not reviewed.
Filing a dispute
- Open a ticket in #disputes with the subject:
[Match ID] — Brief description. - Include your team name, opponent team name, match date/time, and a clear description of the issue.
- Attach any supporting evidence: screenshots, clips, replay files.
- An admin will acknowledge the ticket within 2 hours and issue a verdict within 24 hours.
Grounds for dispute
- Suspected cheating (covered under §3).
- Opponent player substitution without prior admin approval.
- Server-side technical issue that determined the match outcome.
- Admin error in recording the match result.
§7 Penalties
Penalties are applied to individual players or entire teams depending on the violation. Team penalties affect the team's match result; player penalties may also result in personal bans.
